Acquisitions and formation of alliances is not only for the large global companies. As OEM’s and major Tier I suppliers look to consolidate their supplier base globally, there are a world of opportunities for small to medium size businesses. AAP team members have led acquisition activities of companies located in various countries with revenue greater than $1 billion and as small as a few million dollars revenue. We have also led divestitures of corporate divisions of similar size. AAP team members have successfully led evaluations, negotiated, and managed automotive and component Joint Ventures and alliances in Brazil, Canada, China (6), Egypt, France, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, USA, and Zaire.

A Harvard Business Review study indicated that four out of five acquisitions are not successful. Acquisitions and Joint Venture projects led and managed by the personnel of AAP have a success rate of over 90%. AAP experience shows that successful involvement in acquisitions and alliances requires a disciplined approach by all aspects of the business enterprise and exacting program management.
